METRO NEWS, Wednesday, 22 Dec 2021 | Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST) organised an outreach programme to distribute food boxes to underprivileged residents of the peoples’ housing project (PPR) Kota Damasara, Selangor.
About 30 boxes containing daily essentials such as rice, cooking oil, vegetables and other items were given to 30 families at the university’s campus.
MUST Student Council 2020/2021 president Muhammad Firas Qasid said they initiated this project to encourage students to give back to the community, especially those who have been badly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The hat was passed around among faculty members and students to collect donations for this project.
“We came to know that around our university area in Kota Damansara, there are still people going through hardship even after movement restrictions were lifted,’’ said Muhammad Firas. He added that armed with this information, they decided to help B40 families who live at the PPR Kota Damansara.
