Malaysia University of Science & Technology (MUST) has penned an agreement with industry partner, Glee Trees, to educate its students in the areas of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) and Robotic Process Automation.
RPA has been gaining prominence lately as the “future of office work” for white-collar workers. It is a relatively new category of software that allows the automation of repetitive processes by mimicking actions that a human performs on a computer, rather than relying on complicated and rigid APIs. RPA is made better with A.I. to enable a wider range of automation so as to replicate some cognitive abilities of humans.
Such A.I. RPA “software robots” can potentially cut operation cost up to 90 per cent at maturity, and might eventually become the peak of digitalization in our era. “It is important for our students to be exposed to the concept of work in the future environment, which is why, we believe that knowledge of RPA and A.I. will make our students stand out in the crowd.” – said Dr. Harwindar, Dean of School of Business.
Part of the collaboration with Glee Trees is to open up the access of A.I. RPA for academic purposes and incorporate into the curriculum of business and information technology programs at Diploma, Undergraduate and Post-Graduate levels. Glee Trees will sponsor licenses of its Gleematic Software for all levels for such teaching purposes.

Students and lecturers alike, will be able to learn about the system and get hands-on experience of working with RPA. The benefit of such collaboration between the University and the industry will be far-reaching, benefiting most of all employers of future-ready graduates.
